"Détour" is a video project produced in 2024 as part of a seminar at the school of applied arts. The goal was to produce a music video for a young artist from the region. To bring this project to fruition, we went through several key stages: planning the research, filming, and post-production days; creating a moodboard based on the song lyrics to guide our artistic direction; and scouting locations. We also contacted the artist to obtain their consent to appear in the video before proceeding with filming and finalizing the editing within the allotted time frame.
From a creative standpoint, we chose to create a spatial atmosphere, playing with speed effects—slow motion and fast motion—and duplicating the rapper's presence in the image to reinforce the visual impact and echo the song's lyrics.
This project allowed my teammates and me to develop our organizational skills, our responsiveness to the unexpected, and our ability to mobilize creative ideas in the service of a coherent visual concept.
